  • Expect Better…Live Better!

***ATTENTION!!! CW Asks For A Favor****

PLEASE if at all possible, refrain from debating with factions on other sites (Topix, YouTube, BV, BP, etc)...This gets us nowhere and distracts from our purpose which is living the best life possible...Some BW are bogged down by frequently arguing with folks who are irrelevant...Do not expend ANYMORE energy into this...Cease trying to convince anyone to see the situation in a different light...Either these people (Black, White, or otherwise) get it or they DON'T!...The parties who want to keep Black women on a hamster wheel often try to taunt us into "debate" in order to preoccupy...If you're on a messageboard debating then you're not:

    1. Going out and meeting people

    2. Dating

    3. Travelling

    4. Learning new things

    5.Connecting with a loved one

6.Watching Paint Dry...Even doing that would be more productive because that means you worked on a project...Something was painted

    7.(Fill In The Blank)

    Time to move on...

This forum encourages discussion, critical thinking and feedback....However I WILL NOT tolerate predator/criminal protectionism...Those who engage in this will soon find this out...I participate fully with law enforcement regarding any suspicious activity, clear???

    A Message To Black Women:

This is a time where enough is enough and we must act. Despite our differences in opinion on dating and messageboard posts, there is a situation staring Black women dead in the face. Love me, hate me, cuss me out and call me names...Just demand better for Black women. Add me to your blogroll, remove me, or ban me...Just stand up for Black women. The crimes committed against us are often glossed over in favor of fighting perceived injustices against Black men who are overwhelmingly found to be the perpetrators. Rev. Al & Jesse (AKA "Big Perm" & "Big Illegitimate Daddy")would rather march for the BM of "Jena 6", or cry about how a BM teen received too much prison time (Google Geranalow Wilson) for indecent acts. These phony sychophants of the "Black Community Machine" will never stand up for Black women who are the constant victims of damaged Black men. Consider the numerous BW who have become victims that we can name off the top of our heads. And believe me this list isn't all inclusive...All within less than a year:

Ms Esmin Green, who was left to die on a hospital floor. People from her family, church, etc came out of the woodwork only AFTER she died. IMO...True fashion of those who did not do right by her in the first place...Now these parties want to go on the news and prostrate themselves on Ms Green's coffin...Where were they while she was alive?...It was obvious she needed help...More than likely she was just another 'mule' fitting under the 'Strong Black Woman' profile...Again, not to mention Jesse or Al...WHERE WERE THEY???Sisters, we MUST reject being a burden bearer and only deal with those who reciprocate...

    Daniyah Jackson

    Nailah Franklin

    Latasha Norman

The two mothers & babies gunned down in Indianapolis

    Dunbar Village

    Alexis Goggins

    Stepha Henry

Sgt. Jan Pawel Pietrzak and his wife, Quiana Pietrzak

There are no marches, committees nor protests for these atrocities committed against Black women. When will we cease giving endless support to a false community which openly (with misogynist music), or with silence, endorse cruelty against us?

We cannot go on pretending the so called Black "leadership"
has our best interests at heart. The rare occasions "Black leadership" has shown their face for BW is where there is a possibility of playing the racecard. Black women must cease and desist any support of
    these organizations and their figureheads...

-If the reader wishes not to have their photos or blog on this site...email me and i will be more than happy to remove it -Please report any dead or otherwise irrelevant linx

Ali & Lissette Gonzalez — True Colorblind Love!

Ali & Lissette Gonzalez — True Colorblind Love!

milienter

Lissette Torres was experiencing an emptiness in her life that accompanied the passing of her beloved father.  Lissette felt that God (with the help of her father) eased her suffering by sending her an angel for comfort.  That angel would end up being her true love and soul mate Ali.  Extremely happy in her close, loving and almost 13 year strong marriage; Lissette and Ali put family first and immensely enjoy watching their two children grow and learn.  Lissette faithfully applies 3 tenets passed on to her by her father in a dream —- Love, Respect and Communication.  These tenets are naturally colorblind and so is their love.

What is your husband’s ethnicity?

Ali is Cuban American

How did you meet?

We met at a local bar (Hooligans) it was the best!

And how long had you known him when you got married?

Within 3 months of meeting, Ali proposed to me.  A year and one month later, we we were married.

When were you married?

August 23 1997

wed051

Was this your first interracial relationship?

No. I have always been attracted to the Italian looking men with the dark features whoooo!! It was not unusual for me since my family consists of a vast array of ethnicities.  I am a black Cuban American.

How did you feel about interracial marriage and relationships before you were in one?

I have never been critical of people as far as love or race goes. My mother told me that we were all the same and although you can have a type of person you like, the heart is what makes you fall in love. It is logical not hard at all to understand.

dsc3591

Do you feel any different about interracial marriage and relationships now?

I think it is more accepted in society but I still feel there are many  hypocrites out there.  I of course am speaking from my own personal experiences.

Did you face skeptics and criticism from friends and/or family about your interracial marriages?

Yes

Do you recall how you first informed your friends and family of your interracial relationship and subsequent marriage?

Yes, they told me to stay away from him, but not truly for the interracial aspect.  It was because Ali was known as a ladies’ man.  To me, he was the perfect gentleman.  That’s what got me then and that’s what gets me now!

What about your husband’s family —- did you or he face any criticism from them?

Well…. (Pause)  Yes, but they changed their outlook very quickly. In fact, it was almost immediate.  They realize that they were being ignorant.

How was it handled?

Nothing was done on our part as I couldn’t care less; but they put forth the effort and came to us.  Everything played out perfectly.  I do give God the credit.  God is good!!!

Have you ever felt pressure or experienced a significant difference between your non interracial and interracial relationships?

No pressure but yes there was a societal difference. I didn’t get as many stares as when I was with my black boyfriends.  I guess that would be the only difference.

Do you feel that there are societal criticisms and pressures concerning interracial relationships in the US?

No not really. hmmmm (pondering) Well, I’ll have to think about that one more.  It just depends on the individual. Everyone has their own perception and or/opinions about interracial relationships.

Do you have children?

Yes, we have lovely kids. a boy and girl.

natalies2007

Does race figure into child rearing for you?
Yes.

When and if your children first experience racism, what do you think your advice will be to him/her/them?

Since my children especially my daughter was very white when born she thought she was white.  I heard her say it when she was four years-old.  It was at that moment I explained to my daughter her ethnic (black and Latino) heritage and she understood perfectly.  I told my daughter that she was biracial. She’s very proud.  To my son, race has not yet become an issue but when it does, we/they will be prepared.

Where do you live?

Sunny Isles Beach Florida

Do you think Sunny Isles Beach Florida in general is a good place for interracial couples and families?

I have not had any bad experiences here. Miami Florida is a melting pot of cultures and if anything, it is one of the best places for an interracial family to live.

What do you do for fun?

We are a very vibrant couple that has lots of fun.  I sing Karaoke while my husband sits with a drink in his hand and admires my show. We enjoy hanging out with friends for dinner and cocktails. We have a theme party at least once a month. (Cinco de Mayo is coming up (smiling).  We adore spending family day (Sundays) together.  We and the children enjoy the pool and have lots of fun.
On a romantic note, Ali and I love relaxing at home, cuddling cosy, while peering out from our ”beach view” every night.  We admire the moonlit reflections on my feet as we dance and fly around the world as the city sleeps…. Awwww (smiling) I love being home.

nov62007

Do you have any suggestions for black women just entering interracial relationships?

Remember, there are no reservations when you fall in love. It is what it is.  Do not let the world dictate your life should be and what makes you happy. Everyone encounters negativity in their life, so no matter what the reason, go for what you want and fight the world for what you believe.  True love is colorblind.

Thlisetteank you!

PS: I thought the intro of this story (including the first pic) looked as if it was a reading from a romance novel. Clever!

  17. His wife is hot.

  18. To Mrs. Gonzalez,

Does your husband have a brother? If he does, is he as nice and fine? Your story is so positive, it makes me have more hope that I’ll find a man who treats me as well as your husband treats you and your beautiful children. May you continue to be as in love and happy as you are now.

  19. I have been visiting your site for quite some time and until you starting putting in the interviews, I never commented but I just had to after reading this one. All of your interviews are nice CW. Thank you for providing a booster shot for some of us who were on the fence. I have crossed over. After reading this sweet and beautiful story on the Gonzalez family, I have no more doubts that love can truly be colorblind.

I am looking for an older nice, wonderful, loving white (or Asian or Latino) man and I know I will find him. Maybe we can do an interview for your site too.

  20. A lovely couple, and a beautiful family. Thanks for sharing this inspiring story of a love that transcends all bounds. It’s an encouragement to anyone who may be experiencing the pressures and struggles that may come with an interracial relationship.

    Bless up!

  22. They are a gorgeous family. God bless them!

  23. As always I love hearing these stories:)

  24. Some BW have said they’ve had good dating experiences with WM in Canada, so ladies, why not expand your dating pool to include our neighbors up North? It’s not going to be so different from dating someone in another state in the U.S. I know some people don’t like long distance dating, but my cousin and her husband did, so it’s not like it’s impossible. PlentyOfFish dot com is an international website, so you can browse profiles of Canadian guys there. Match dot com also has a Canadian version – just go to ca dot match dot com.
P.S. If you hook up with a Canadian guy, try not to giggle when he pronounces “out” in that special way :-)

  25. Thanks to everyone that has supported this article/ interview. You are all to kind. Yes and my hubby is fione. LOLOL Love it!

  26. They are a beautiful family as well as a beautiful couple. Much happiness to them.

  27. That is a HOT couple!!! Can they have more kids and add to the beauty of this world???

  28. I must say that this is a truly wonderful family. The confidence of this woman, Lissette is beaming off the page. This is a terrific interview and this woman has definitely shown sisters what life can be with a great man (and very good looking I might add) who loves his family.
